Artists

Jonathan Ramirez
(Torreón, Coahuila, México, 1982)

Artist and musician born in the desert city of Torreón. In his illustrations, playfulness mixed with a refined drawing technique give shape to his characteristic style where lines seem to have a life of their own. Obeying to their essence, lines transform into signs of an abstract language, their fluency resembling movements in elements of nature. This organic intuition gives birth to naive characters whom inhabit a fantastic world, they talk to us in a way in which we might only respond with more questions.

Moriz Oberberger
(Bolzano, Italy, 1987)

Italian visual artist, graphic designer and illustrator currently participating at Werkplaats Typografie in Arnhem. Some of his work has been directly inspired by recurrent visits to various parts of Mexico. His interventions refer mainly to "la Grafica popular Mexicana", the graphic illustrative language across Mexico, and magic realism. Lead by a reflective character and a blunt intuition, Moriz' subtile observations of the daily life in Mexico evolve into a manifold of hidden stories from parallel worlds captured with a playful tone of voice. With his various narratives exercised in different mediums, you can wear Moriz's work, read it, or even reconstruct it on your wall.

Enrique Arce Gutierrez
(Queretaro, Mexico, 1989)

Interaction designer and installation artist born and raised in Mexico. The Utrecht based visual artist’ work revolves in the exploration of technology and its creative incorporation within art and design. His works display the desire to create autonomously embodied artworks that distance themselves from the author as the operator. He is fascinated by computer vision and microbiology and is the founder of algo-clothing brand Aegis IO and Founder of Response Reality. Coleccion concreta_
is a piece of software that explores urban aspects of Mexico City. Seen through the filter of a distorted computer, the software creates artifacts and distortions on top of found footage and media from cityscapes.
